Starting therapy is a significant step, and it's natural to have questions. Below are some common inquiries to help you understand the process and what to expect. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out.

Is counselling right for me?
If you’re not sure if counselling is right for you, feel free to book a 30 minute initial consultation. We won’t do any formal counselling in this session, but you will get a chance to dip your toes in gently, and ask me any questions—or voice any doubts—about entering counselling. There’s absolutely no pressure to continue beyond this point.
I think I want to try it…. What’s the next step?
If you’re pretty sure you want to start counselling, the first step is to book a 50 minute intake session. Here we will:
  • Go over your reasons for seeking counselling
  • Talk about the counselling process and what to expect
  • Create your initial goals for therapy and discuss how we might go about reaching them
  • Fill out some necessary paperwork

The cost of the intake session is $50.

I did the intake. Now what?

After your intake session, we’ll book your first regular/follow-up session together. These are 50 minutes long. While the focus may change from session to session depending on where we are in the counselling process, it will typically involve a deep-dive into the thoughts, feelings and behaviours surrounding the issues you’re struggling with.

These sessions are $100. (It really matters to me that my services are affordable, so I offer them on a sliding scale. We can discuss this at the initial consultation or during the intake session).
